Artist's Statement

"I am drawn to images of nature with strong contrasts and vivid color. My paintings on Yupo (a smooth synthetic paper) provide opportunities to create small abstractions within a larger realistic composition." 

Artist Biography

Maribeth is known for her vivid watercolor and mixed media paintings as well as her large scale street paintings in pastel chalk. She has received awards and featured artist recognition in events including Arts Alive in Mission Viejo, OC Fair, Via Arte in Bakersfield, Palo Alto Festival of the Arts, Chalktoberfest in Marietta, Georgia, Pacific Northwest Chalk Festival, and the International Chalk Festival in Florida. Maribeth retired from teaching art in grades K - 8 a few years ago and now focuses on creating her own works in watercolor and mixed media
